Guest: Worked Great On Windows VIsta

Thanks for a great program.

Instruction for windows needs improvement though.... Plus some bug...

1)  Setup Computer with File Sharing ON.

2) Detault file shared folder name is "Public" on windows vista.

3) To find it.

Computer->Network->

Click your computer  name that has File Sharing... Example:  Compaq11

You will see "Public" with pipe icon under it.  Right click that and select "Property".

So name of server directory would be \\Compaq11\Public  or Compaq11\Public  but my android phone don't have \ so linux type Compaq11/Public would be used.

Bug is:

On server adding //Compaq11/Public could be found but NOT Compaq11/Public.

and get error message "smb::////Compaq11/Public/" not found.

It seems to me that extra // is causing the problem.

So, I had to use cmd and ipconfig to get iPv4 address 198.160.1.100.

On server adding 198.160.1.100/Public and it worked.

Colin: Still can't connect

I'd really like to use this but whatever I do I can't get it to connect to my W7 shares. If I just put the ip address in I get an error loading the file list and if I put one of the share names in it can't find the server. The shares are accessible to all other computers in the house and I've tried both with and without the firewall running. Any ideas? The helpdesk haven't responded to the problem.

Guest: RE: Re: Great Tool!!

Thanks Xiao for the reminder.

I found out that file explorer cannot handle 'space' aka '%20'. IF the folder/directory/filename contains 'space' then it report a path error.

So, I rename all names to have '-' instead of 'space'. It works.

Thank you.

To get around : try to rename it with a simple name to view it.

Guest: Great Tool!!

Hi,

I have been using ES File explorer for a while. It's great. I had uninstall Astro! By the way, I have problem viewing html files from ther HTMLViewer. I am using Hero.

It always give the "web page not available": requested file not found. I found that the path is not correct. Any help?

Thank you.

Guest: Re: estrongs great

Your suggestion is valuable!

We have add media play list function and media play control into our development plan. Maybe next version it wouldn't be finished, but it is already on way.

Thanks for your supportLaughing

Guest: estrongs great

just got my first android phone and i think your app is great, was thinking of trying to develop something similar until i found your app.

dont suppose i could get a copy of your source code to add a few extra features, if not it would be worth adding these features in future releases

1) to be able to select multiple mp3's to listen to rather than having to go back and forth

2) add functionality to pause, fastforward, rewind, top, next song, previous song

Hi,

Now, ES file explorer just support local Workgroup connection, using ip and username/password.

If you use domain name it cann't connect.

Thanks!

Guest: Mr

Hi,

I have been using your estrongs file explorer and it works great on a PC running a local account. I have tried to access a server on a domain using a domain account username and password of the form domain\username or domain/username but I keep getting invalid userid or password. You do you supply a domain userid and password to a server network share.

Thanks

Guest: Task manager

Hi,

File Explorer is an awesome tool! But please make the task manager list as "ongoing" in the Notifications area, so that it can't be cleared out, similar to what Advanced Task Killer does. And a % CPU time readout integrated with the icon would be fantastic as well. I think your task manager is far superior in every other way to all of the other ones available for Android--just these two changes would put you firmly on top :-)

Thanks for a wonderful tool.

Supporting: Online FAQ

1) We will release EStrongs POP until it has quality to some degree. It's still not published.

2) Stream video or audio will be release future version of EStrongs File Explorer.

3) To visit PC through EStrongs File Explorer,  you need default setting in Windows or Samba Server in Linux/Mac/Unix. For Windows XP, normally you can visit it directly without any special setting.
